The Carson City Planning Commission approved a request for a Special Use Permit for a new retail marijuana store at the Sept. 28 meeting.

The store will be approximately 4,000 square feet in size near the intersection of Hwy 50 W and S. Carson Street.

The Carson City Planning Commission has approved a request for a Special Use Permit to build a 253-unit apartment project known as the Stewart Street Apartments.

The project required a special use permit due to the location being within the Downtown Mixed-Use zoning district.

The proposed Andersen Ranch Estates neighborhood project was the hot topic during the Carson City Planning Commission meeting Tuesday night, with the commission recommending approval of the project map with a 4-2 vote with 1 vote absent.

The historic Carson City building that was Cafe at Adele’s at the corner of North Carson and John Street was set for demolition, until it was offered to whoever wants it, so long as they move it from the property to its new home by March 1, 2020.

Plans for a subdivision development at the Andersen Ranch property — which has generated much debate for and against — will be discussed at the Dec. 17 Carson City Planning Commission meeting.

The Project known as Vintage at Kings Canyon (the Andersen Ranch) is again before city officials. The applicants are asking for an amendment to the originally approved Planned Unit Development (PUD) from December of 2016.
