CARSON CITY — The Aging and Disability Services Division was recently awarded $6,929,262 in grants from the Administration for Community Living as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The funds will help meet the needs of older adults and people with disabilities as communities implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Provider Relief Fund, established under the CARES Act, provides a total of $100 billion in relief funds to hospitals and other healthcare providers on the front lines of the coronavirus response. The first $30 billion of the fund will be distributed starting today, with more than $240 million of this initial allocation going to Nevada.

Greater Commercial Lending (GCL) continues to accept applications for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), authorized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a result of the recently enacted Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The company is one of the earliest business lenders to fully adopt the PPP in the State of Nevada since opening applications on Friday, April 3. By mid-day on Monday, April 6, over 400 Nevada businesses had submitted applications to GCL.

As the agency continues to experience high volume of claims entering the system, the agency’s number one priority is supporting Nevadans’ unemployment needs.

With support from the Governor, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Employment Security Division entered into agreement over the weekend to take steps to implement the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) signed into law by the President Friday evening that will expand Unemployment Insurance benefits.
