Greater Nevada Credit Union seeking full- and part-time positions at career fair Saturday

Named one of northern Nevada’s Best Places to Work for three consecutive years, Greater Nevada Credit Union will hold a career fair from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at the GNCU South Reno branch located at 6745 Sierra Center Pkwy, in Reno, Nev.

Apple picking, state park hikes, live music and more highlight weekend events in Carson City area

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. Franktown Apples in Washoe Valley is hosting apple picking Friday through Sunday. In celebration of National Public Lands Day, Nevada State Parks will have a fee-free day on Saturday filled with hikes and tours. Recently, several CHS freshman Biology classes had the opportunity to work with fourth graders from Empire Elementary in Carson City. Students learned about conservation, the water cycle, and the Carson River watershed. CHS students, trained by the River Wranglers conservation group, and on a very windy day, met up with Empire Elementary students at Baily Pond.
