Nevada ballot issues featured at tonight's first League of Women Voters election forum

For the first forum, ballot issues will be presented. Ballot issues will be addressed by presenters stating the positive and the negative for each item. Issues to be covered include the Mining Tax and Education Initiative, also known as the Margins Tax, and the Question 1 Appellate Court issue.

NDOW seeks to hire 7 new game wardens for mostly rural duty stations

“The agency has experienced several retirements and some turnover in the last few years,” said Tyler Turnipseed, Chief Game Warden at NDOW.

Born in Algorta, Basque Country, Iker will discuss Basque history in a presentation titled Becoming Basque-American: Basque Sheep Breeders and their Ethnic Legitimacy in Nevada (1890-1959).
The Leisure Hour Club, established in September of 1896, is Carson City’s oldest continuously operating social organization. Its goal is promoting knowledge on important issues, science, music and literature.

Schmidt files countersuit against Kieckhefer, seeks in excess of $10K

Kieckhefer first moved their campaign into the courtroom by filing a defamation lawsuit against Schmidt last Friday.

This in reply to Mr. James O. Hartman’s letter to the editor in the May 21st issue of the RC. Mr. Hartman, I will address you in the first person in this reply. Facts are stubborn things.
Let me be clear that I draw a parallel to your reporting in the RC opinion page with what in the 30’s was called yellow journalism. Use of the journalism in the same sentence with your name does a disservice to journalists everywhere even those in the mainstream.
