Events include live comedy, art and heater, multiple holiday craft fairs around Carson City and Carson Valley as well as several Veterans Day ceremonies and offers of gratitude to vets and active duty members of the U.S. military on Monday. This course will teach you to make some amazing holiday creations out of books, including trees and ornaments. You'll even learn how to light up your creations! In addition to the $25 registration fee, a $40 supply fee is due to the instructor at the start of the course.

Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 04/06/2019 - 7:11amGood morning Carson City! Today is Saturday, April 6. While it's going to be a bit cloudy today, we'll have a high of 56 degrees. Sunday and Monday are almost hitting 70, though, with highs at 67 and 68!
On the docket for today is a Celtic Music concert, a Ducks Unlimited Banquet, the April Carson City Wine Walk, farming workshops, kitten parties, and more.

Let me tell you, downtown is going to be hopping, not to mention the Early Season Farmers Market making its seasonal debut in the parking lot at W. Musser and N. Nevada – just behind Due Sorella. Take the kids down to Bailys Pond at Fuji Park for the annual Tom Brooks Memorial Kids’ Fishing Day. A trip to the train museum comes with the opportunity to ride on the Historic McKeen Motor Car.

Free ice cream and a concert featuring the Capital City Community Band can be found tonight at the First United Methodist Church on King Street. You’ll find free pool, a nice beer selection, and great drinks at Remedy’s Bar on Williams Street tonight. Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery celebrates the paper and book sculptures of mother-daughter team, My Thousand Words, at a meet and greet reception tonight. Keep reading for a plethora of ways to spend the day.

The sculptures as they are very unique and special “One of a Kind” and are signed and tagged. They are books that literally “come to life” and can make an incredible addition to anyone's study, office, etc. Find your favorite book and let us bring that story to life!
