Sunday, Feb. 21: Things to do around Carson City

Sunday fun includes the Carson Victory Roller’s My Bloody Valentine Scrimmage to benefit CASI and the Nevada Humane Society. Brides-to-be will want to check out the Fall in Love Bridal Festival at Genoa Lakes. Leave the kids at home for Nerdvana’s Adults Gaming Night: you must be 18 or older for this fun.

Got kids? Plenty of fun awaits. Start out at Dunkin Donuts for their Community Celebration complete with face painting and more. Love on a Leash at the Carson City Library will give them a chance to practice their reading skills with a non-judgmental furry friend. Celebrate the Asian New Year with crafts and music at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Take a look at the whole list for a weekend filled with activities for those young, old, and in-between.

Wildcats to Host Arizona Western in Carson City baseball home opener on Friday

Western Nevada College will welcome an experienced Arizona Western College baseball team for its home opener at John L. Harvey Field on Friday, Feb. 12.

"Arizona Western has a tremendous team and a solid program," said WNC coach D.J. Whittemore. "We are pumped to compete with them and understand we will have to play good-to-great baseball to come out on top."

Rowan Brothers return to Carson City Sept. 24, on the Veranda at Cafe at Adele’s in what is becoming something of an annual tradition. The music starts at 6 p.m.

Each year about this time, Lorin Rowan and Chris Rowan bring patrons an evening of music that includes both new and old original songs and an array of everything from rock and pop to Americana and bluegrass.
Well versed in many genres and presented accoustically with beautiful harmonies, an evening with The Rowans is always a delight.

“This is something we always look forward to,” Lorin said.
