Yvonne J. David, resident of Carson City, Nevada, passed away on July 16, 2020. Yvonne was born on May 5, 1944 to the parents Nellie (Alma) Lovingier and Arthur A. Lovingier in San Francisco, CA. Yvonne arrived in Carson City in 1977 and began to work for the State of Nevada. She loved working for Western Nevada College, assisting teachers and staff before retiring.

June 6 was supposed to be the day of the kick-off concert to the 2020 Levitt AMP Carson City Summer Concert Series. Unfortunately, we all know that large gatherings like the ones that take place at Levitt AMP Carson City are just not possible right now.

Starting July 8th, 2020 and every Wednesday night thereafter for the next 5 weeks Carson City will have free drive-in movies at the Brewery Arts Center parking lot!

Heading into the first day of the work week and the first Monday in August, there's continued sunshine and seasonable daytime high temperatures ahead. Lined up for the day are a guest talk by Vincent Solis, president of Western Nevada College, art activities and more. Hug your children. Enjoy the day.

The Nevada Highway Patrol and other Nevada law enforcement agencies participating in the Joining Forces program are urging pedestrians and drivers alike to be aware of each other at all times and share the road responsibly. From August 5th through 16th, the Joining Forces law enforcement team will be issuing citations to pedestrians and motorists who are violating traffic safety laws.

Vincent Solis, president of Western Nevada College, will be the featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon. A life-long educator with more than 25 years of service in higher education, Dr. Solis began his tenure at WNC on July 1, 2018. A visionary leader and inspirational speaker, his presentation is a must-see for anyone interested in the crucial role higher education will play in the rapidly changing economy of the 21st century.

The median sales price for Carson City, NV homes for sale was $292,000 in July 2018 compared to $315,000 during June 2018 and $259,950 in July of 2017.

The number of Carson City, NV homes that sold was 57 in July 2018 vs. 80 in June 2018 and 72 that sold July of 2017.

When people mention Reno, unique flora is not usually the first thing one would picture, however Reno has a plethora of unique rare plant species. Join Janel Johnson, a botanist with the Nevada Natural Heritage Program to learn about the less common species of plants around Reno. You will also get to learn more about the Nevada Natural Heritage Program and its mission to collect data on all of Nevada’s flora and fauna.

Join the Carson City Library this summer with our Summer Learning Challenge this Saturday, June 10, 2017 through August 4, 2017. Our Summer Learning Challenge encourages and rewards readers of all ages while also providing fun educational programs and special events.

We invite children and families to experience our new IMAGINATIONS Children's Art Program. This program is designed to offer children a variety of art classes taught by professional art instructors as well as offer family retreats to create artwork together. Our Saturday Art Classes are held once each month with each teaching a different topic or discipline.
