New registration phone number for Quad community-based testing for those without symptoms

This was the line for those who are not currently experiencing symptoms. There was an issue with the phone line provider. The number to schedule a test for those without symptoms has been changed; it is now (775) 434-1450.

This brings the total number of cases to 82, with 31 recoveries and one death, 50 cases remain active.
Initial Nevada unemployment claims decline to 39,145; continued claims above 230,000
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 04/26/2020 - 1:19pmCARSON CITY — Finalized data from the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) show initial claims for unemployment insurance totaled 39,496 for the week ending April 18, down 19,145 claims, or 32.6 percent compared to last week’s total of 58,641.

This brings the total number of cases to 75, with 27 recoveries and one death, 47 cases remain active.
The new cases are:
A female Carson City resident in her 40’s
A female Lyon County resident in her 50’s
A female Douglas County resident in her 30’s
NHP investigates fatal crash in Mound House on Highway 50
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 04/24/2020 - 4:24pmOn Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at approximately 3:42 PM, NHP Troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash involving two vehicles on US-50 and Highlands Drive in Mound House.
The preliminary investigation shows a green 1999 Honda CR-V and red 2011 Subaru Legacy were traveling eastbound on US-50. The Legacy slowed to make a right turn onto Highlands Drive.
For unknown reasons, the CR-V crossed into the travel lane occupied by the Legacy and struck the left rear of the vehicle.

Tahoe Hemp is suing Carson City for $15 million after the city refused to allow the company to grow hemp on the Buzzy’s Ranch property, despite an agreement with the Jarrard Family Trust.

Nevada State Public Health Lab to start limited antibody testing in coming weeks

In the coming weeks, the NSPHL will begin a new form of testing, which includes detection of antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Such a test may be able to determine whether a person has been infected with the virus, in the past.
