Here's what's happening Saturday:

What a week it was Carson City, and it isn't even over yet. Heading into Friday, May 3, 2019, we're looking at continued sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There's a host of activities Friday and, looking ahead, a bevy of fun Saturday including a Mother's Day craft fair at the Carson City Community Center, a Star Wars themed bicycle safety day, a wine, cheese and dessert ride aboard the V&T, an early opening of the downtown farmer's market, the May Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, a memorial walk, presentations, comedy, live music and more. The Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary, in one of its most popular fundraisers, will host its 6th annual V&T Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train from Carson City to Virginia City on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

The special event train leaves the Eastgate Depot in Carson City at 10 a.m. and arrives in Virginia City at approximately 11:30 a.m. The train arrives back in Carson City before 4:30 p.m. Tickets are pre-sold, and guests are asked to be at the Eastgate Depot by 9:30 a.m.

What gorgeous weather we have this weekend! Head over to Eagle Valley Middle School for a rummage sale benefiting their LEGO Robotics Team; you may find something fun for your patio. The Spring Fling Stop and Shop at the Plaza Hotel will help you spruce up your wardrobe. Or head up to Silver City for the big closing sale at Doodad’s Emporium. If you find yourself in Gardnerville, the First Annual Summer Splendor Showcase and Expo features vendors galore.

SATURDAY:

Tickets are going fast for the Sixth Annual V&T Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary.

The V&T train event will be held on Saturday, April 18, departing Carson City Eastgate Depot at 10 a.m. for a trip through the Comstock to Virginia City. The train will return to Carson City at 4 p.m. Tickets are $70 per person. Your ticket includes: Wine, Cheese and Dessert to and from Virginia City.

Spring is in the air and why not a train trip to enjoy the season and to help out the community? The V&T Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary, will be held on Saturday, April 18. Reserve you tickets now as the number available are limited.

The Fifth Annual V&T Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary, will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

The Train departs Carson City Eastgate Depot at 10:00am for a trip through the Comstock to Virginia City and will return to Carson City at 3:00pm. Tickets are $70.00 per person. Ticket includes: Wine, Cheese and Dessert to and from Virginia City, lunch in Virginia City, a shuttle to and from the Virginia City station to Main Street, plus other amenities.

It is time to welcome spring with good friends, good wine, good food and a great Train Ride on the Comstock! The V & T Wine, Cheese and Dessert Train, sponsored by the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary, will be held on Saturday, April 6, departing Carson City Eastgate Depot at 10 a.m. for a trip through the Comstock to Virginia City.

Wine, cheese and dessert from Carson City to Virginia City and back. Choice of three venues. Net proceeds supports the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Hospital. The cost is $65 per person. Departs Eastgate Depot at 10 a.m., returning at 3 p.m. Call Gloria Seaton (775) 882-8162.
