UNR Extension is now accepting applications for the Carson City Community Garden

March 5, 2024 (All day) UNR Extension Offices would like to invite you to apply for a plot with the Carson City Community Gardens. Located in the middle of Carson City, the CCCG opened their doors 2001 and offers 25 4-by-16-foot garden plots at a yearly fee of $40.

With an expanding public interest for alternative health care, domestic production of Chinese medicinal herbs offers a new and untapped market to Nevada farmers.
The Western Nevada College Specialty Crop Institute offers a workshop, “The Business of Chinese Herbal Medicines,” Saturday, Nov. 2, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the WNC Carson Campus, 2201 W. College Parkway, Carson City. Cost is $45 for those registering by October 25, $55 afterward.
