PBS Reno's 'Wild Nevada' season 5 picked up for distribution by American Public Television
PBS Reno is excited to announce Season 5 of its award-winning local production, "Wild Nevada," has been picked up for national distribution by American Public Television. The first episode will be available to participating PBS member stations around the country on March 10, 2021.
Season 5 features exciting adventures across the state, with interesting locations like Massacre Rim Dark Sky Sanctuary, Goldfield, Ely, Desert National Wildlife Refuge, the Old Spanish Trail, and so much more. Viewers get to go along for the journey with hosts Chris Orr and Dave Santina as they ride with the High Desert Trailblazers south of Ely; check out the new Walker River State Recreation Area; hike through Echo Canyon State Park; bike along the new Lake Tahoe East Shore Trail and explore the newly-renovated Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah, just to name a few.
“I love getting to share the scenery and uniqueness of Nevada through the Wild Nevada series,” said Chris Orr. “Being able to help newcomers and natives of this diverse and rich region discover and celebrate its deserts and mountains, its history and recreation, really makes the show a passion project for all of us on the team.”
Wild Nevada brings viewers up close with the beauty and history of the state while simultaneously encouraging people to head out and experience in-person what the state has to offer.
“Right now everyone is ready to get outside and travel just about anywhere,” said Dave Santina. “With so many events cancelled lately, it’s good to know about places that are worth visiting any time of year, and Wild Nevada is the perfect show for that. This season we visit a lot of places that are brand new to us and also return to a few favorites that offer entirely new experiences.”
