Carson City weekend weather: Slight chance of snow showers then clear, sunny and cold
A quick moving, weak weather system may affect the area through Saturday morning bringing a slight chance of light snowfall across the Carson City region, according to the National Weather Service.
In the NWS image on the left it shows the percent chance of 0.1” of snow or more with the image on the right showing the timing and intensity of the precipitation band at 2 a.m. The weather service says there's a 30 percent chance of snow for the Carson City area.
While Carson City may or may not see see some light snowfall, the amounts won't measure up. Even though accumulations will be very low, the weather service still cautions it may be enough to cause travel disruptions with icy and slick road conditions.
Meanwhile, the forecast calls for windy conditions that will for allow for clearing skies and cold temperatures through next week around Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas. Highs will be in the upper 30s Saturday and Sunday, upper 40s by Monday, and possibly the mid 50s range by Tuesday.
