Passenger in possession of knife admits to slashing tires of woman's vehicle

A 35-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Dec. 2, 4:11 a.m. on suspicion of second offense DUI, a gross misdemeanor and speeding over 21 mph. The woman was arrested in the 900 block of North Stewart Street in Carson City.

A Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy responded to a call of a possible DUI driver in the 500 block of North Carson Street. The deputy located the driver traveling westbound on William Street at Mills Park where radar clocked her doing 57 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the arrest report.

Officers pulled the driver over, making contact and asking for her drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. She had a difficult time locating the documents. The arresting officer asked her if she had been drinking and the woman replied yes, the arrest report states.

She was given a series of field sobriety tests, in which she consented in doing some but declined to do the walk and turn test, the arrest report states. She refused to submit to a preliminary breath test, the arrest report states.

Officers arrested her for suspicion of DUI and basic speed. Dispatch did a check for prior arrests and stated the woman had a DUI conviction in 2008. A blood draw was performed at jail through a telephonic warrant. Bail: $2,657.

In other misdemeanor-related arrests:
A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, Dec. 2, 12:17 a.m. in the area of Combs Canyon. He faces misdemeanor charges of DUI, failure to maintain lane of travel and driving on a suspended, revoked license.

Officers in the area observed the driving in a Ford Astro van failing to maintain its lane of travel, crossing over the double yellow line. The vehicle was stopped. The man was asked if he had anything to drink and he replied he had. A records check with dispatch informed the officer that his driver's license was suspended, revoked for a DUI in 2001.

The man submitted to standard field sobriety tests in which he showed impairment on all tests. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result above .08. He was taken to jail and chose to do a blood test under Nevada Implied Consent. Bail: $2,346.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Nov. 30, 3:30 p.m. on a failure to appear traffic warrant issued Aug. 5, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $949.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana (second offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested in the 4300 block of Hillview Drive.

Officers were called to the residence after the man's mother asked him to leave the home. The man was preparing to leave the residence and was asked if he had anything illegal in the vehicle. He paused and said no, according to the arrest report. Officers asked him if they could do a search of the vehicle with a K9 and the man consented.

Deputy Pullen asked for the keys to the vehicle and the man said "why, I though you were going to search the outside of the vehicle" and then advised he had marijuana in a stereo box in the truck. Officers opened the trunk and located the marijuana in two glass jars, a gold bong, black scale, black marker and an orange blank pill box. The items were recovered and booked into evidence. Bail: $1,864.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Dec. 1, 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of Roop and Stewart streets. He faces a misdemeanor charge of destruction of property.

According to the arrest report, officers stopped a vehicle that matched the description of a suspect vehicle involved in a case involving slashed tires. The man, a passenger in the vehicle stopped, was in possession of a fixed blade K-Bar style knife.

He stated he did not want the driver to get into trouble for his actions and said that he had indeed slashed the tires of a vehicle belonging to a woman, according to the arrest report. Bail: $2,637.

— A 29-year-old Sparks woman was arrested Dec. 12, 1:54 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Carson Street. She was arrested on a failure to appear warrant, petit larceny, issued Nov. 12 out of municipal court out of Sparks. Bail: $940.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Nov. 30, in the 1700 block of Montelena Court on a misdemeanor warrant failure to appear for traffic court. Bail: $187.

— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Nov. 29, 8:37 p.m. in the 1500 block of Spooner Drive. She faces misdemeanor warrant charges of battery and was served the warrant by officers of the Special Enforcement Team. Bail: $500.

— A 41-year-old Carson City woman turned herself into jail officers on Nov. 30, 4:01 p.m. on a warrant, disorderly conduct. Bail: $250.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Nov. 30, 6:19 p.m. near King and Curry streets. He faces misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, obstructing a peace officer, bicycling on the wrong side of the road, and bicycle equipment violations. Bail: $2,415.
