Carson City arrests: Woman jailed Monday for burglary of RV earlier in November
A 27-year-old Carson City woman, believed to be involved in the burglary of a parked RV earlier this month at a Carmine Street residence, was taken into custody Monday on a felony charge, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Aprille Knight was arrested for felony burglary at 1:55 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Carson Street after a warrant had been issued for her arrest. She was found by a deputy after dispatch advised there was a man and woman passed out in a vehicle at a North Carson Street grocery store, the arrest report states.
(CORRECTION: Carson Now originally had the spelling of a suspect's name, Aprille Knight, incorrect which caused confusion. The name was spelled incorrectly on the arrest report. We have fixed it and regret the error.)
James Robbins, listed as a transient, was booked for the crime earlier this month but Knight was not located at the time of his arrest. According to the police report, on Nov. 5 patrol deputies met with the victim of a vehicle burglary in the 2900 block of Carmine Street.
The victim reported that someone had entered his 1991 Ford motorhome and taken items on Nov. 3.
The victim reported that he was living in his motorhome while he was helping build his brother’s home on Carmine. The motorhome was parked at the rear of the property.
The victim reported a television, suitcase, jar of quarters and other items were taken from the motorhome. The victim further advised there was video surveillance installed on the home that was under construction and that the theft was captured on video.
The video showed Knight and Robbins look through windows of the motorhome, enter it and then carried out property, including a television. The video shows both suspects leaving the property toward Carmine Street.
A deputy confirmed the suspects and Robbins was arrested. He stated he took property from the motorhome, admitting to entering the motorhome through the front doors with Knight and they both took items and left. The deputy showed Robbins surveillance video of the theft. He was later booked for burglary with a $25,000 bail amount.
On Monday, Knight was read her Miranda warning and agreed to speak. She originally told a story the RV belonged to Robbins cousin and she thought the two were getting things from the RV for the cousin. The investigating deputy informed Knight of the surveillance video and there was no mention of a cousin. She was booked for suspicion of burglary. Bail; $25,000.
