Make-A-Wish, Vitalant donors to send Carson City family to Disneyland
Five-year-old Maya from Carson City, who is battling leukemia, is about to embark on her wish trip to her favorite theme park thanks to Make-A-Wish Northeastern and Central California and Northern Nevada and Vitalant.
Join Maya along with her family, friends, and local blood donors were revealed the details of Maya’s wish trip this week inside the Vitalant donation center in Reno. Maya, also known as “Maya the Dragon” has shown her strength through her battle against leukemia. Since being diagnosed at age three, Maya often relied on blood donations from Vitalant to save her life.
Through the generosity of local volunteer blood donors at Vitalant earlier this year, donors made Maya’s wish possible by gifting their Hero Rewards points toward a monetary donation to Make-A-Wish. In total, local Vitalant blood donors donated more than $9,600 to Make-A-Wish.
“We are honored that Vitalant has chosen Make-A-Wish as the beneficiary for this campaign. The funds that they have raised are going towards creating a life-changing wish for Maya and her family. It is an experience they will never forget,” said Make-A-Wish Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada President and CEO, Jennifer Stolo.
