Nevada Day Beard Contest results brings Carson City home the gold
With the chilly temperatures on Saturday, there was one demographic who was far warmer than the others: Nevada Day Beard Contest participants!
Armed with wooly face shields, these men braved the cold to have their facial hair judged publicly in McFadden Plaza for the chance to take home the metaphorical gold.
Hosted by Cipriani’s Downtown Barber Shop and Paradise Salon, 11 categories were judged including: Best overall beard, longest beard, fullest beard, reddest beard, blondest beard, whitest beard, blackest beard, best salt and pepper beard, best groomed beard, scruffiest beard, and the most-bearded community.
Carson has often won the most bearded community title, and this year was no different, bringing in 37 Carson City residents compared with Washoe County’s 14, Lyon County’s nine, with Douglas County pulling in fourth with six participants, and finally Storey County checking in with a lone participant.
