Lake Tahoe Mexican food hub 'Sombreros' opens Carson City location
A new Mexican restaurant, because there really can never be too many in this reporter's opinion, has opened up shop earlier this month on Carson Street.
The Lake Tahoe based Sombreros Authentic Mexican Restaurant has taken the place of the old Super Burrito on South Carson Street and opened officially on Oct. 14.
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., serving up classic favorites such as burritos, tacos, enchiladas, ice cream and more. There is a drive through window as well as a seated restaurant.
Sombreros was originally started in Lake Tahoe by long time Tahoe locals, Jesus “Chuy” Ahumada and Stacey Hernandez, and base their food off of secret family recipes.
Sombreros began as a catering business and still caters today.
