18 of 19 Carson City businesses pass Friday alcohol compliance check
On Friday, Oct. 26 the Carson City Sheriff’s Office conducted an alcohol compliance check. The teen decoys were sent into local businesses and they attempted to purchase alcohol using their real identification.
Nineteen businesses were checked and 18 businesses passed the compliance check, refusing to sell alcohol to the teen decoys.
The following is a list of the businesses passing the compliance check:

JM Market at 1321 N. Carson St.
Capital City Liquor at 1511 N. Carson St.
Food Market at 1718 N. Carson St.
Hacienda Market at 2270 E. William St.
Cigarettes for Less at 2182 E. Williams St.
Mangia Tutto at 200 N. Stewart St.

Whiskey Tavern at 3481 Hwy 50 E. failed the compliance check. The Bartender furnished alcohol to a sixteen year old decoy, without checking their identification and was issued a citation. The bartender will be ordered to attend mandatory Alcohol Server Training. Also, the bar owner will receive an administrative fine.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office goal is to have 100% compliance and have no one sell alcohol to minors.
