Raising the Par: Swing 395 Year-Round Indoor Golf Club opens in Gardnerville

While the Carson Valley region is known for its beautiful, sprawling golf courses, it’s also known for another reason: Dealing with freezing or wintery weather for nearly half the year.
For avid golfers, this can be a bit of a challenge, but no more with the Swing 395 Indoor Golf Club.
Swing 395 is a training and practicing facility that uses virtual technology and state-of-the-art Trackman golf simulators to provide a realistic experience for players.
“Think of Swing 395 as a place where you can bring your outdoor golf game indoors,” said owner Rick Flores.
The facility is family-friendly and beginner-friendly, but is also used by experienced golfers who want technical feedback on their swings and putts.
“Over 80 percent of PGA tour pros today use this same exact system to train; it’s very accurate,” Flores said.
It’s not just a place for individual practice though, according to Flores.
“We also offer golf leagues and tournaments throughout the year so players can compete against each other and win prizes in a fun and social competition.”
For many beginners, they might feel nervous or embarrassed to hit the green, worried about holding up other players while they learn the rules of the game.
This is why Swing 395 is perfect for those just starting out, Flores said, because it offers a private, no-judgement space to figure out swings, putts and more.
Players rent out bays within the facility that welcome up to four players at a time. Players will choose from a number of programs falling into four categories: Practice, Course, Entertainment and Tournaments.
Games and entertainment are the most popular with younger golfers, who find a number of virtual arcade games to chose from.
There are a number of tournaments both happening now and planned for the future including a two person scramble, a men’s league, a women’s league, and a planned family rec league.
In addition, there is a putting course set up at the back of the facility to really work on the short game.
Drinks and snacks are available, which include non-alcoholic beverages like soda, sparking water and sports drinks, as well as beer, whine and pre-packaged mixed drinks. Available snacks include trail mix, chips, cookies, and more.
Each bay is a cost of $65 per hour, which can be split between players. Discounts are provided for youth players 18 and under as part of the Junior Golf Program at only $40 per hour per bay.
“We’re trying to hit every demographic,” Flores said. “We’re here for the community, we built it as an activity for the community and we’ve seen pretty good success so far between all the different demographics.”
Swing 395 also offers a number of themed discount nights in partnership with nearby businesses. Every Tuesday night, order dinner Sakura Poke Bowl while playing at Swing 395 and receive 10% off both golf and dinner.
Family Nights are held every Thursday in partnership with Subway; similarly, when you order dinner from them, you’ll receive 10% off both golf and dinner.
Walk-ins are accepted, but players should reserve their bays online during the peak days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Don’t have your own clubs? No problem! Loaner clubs for both adults and youth are available for beginners who may not have their own sets.
Birthday or holiday party space rentals are also available.
