Carson City Sheriff's Office to conduct alcohol compliance check
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office will conduct an alcohol compliance check this Friday, Oct. 27. Teens not of legal age to buy alcohol will be sent into local businesses in Carson City who have liquor licenses. The teens will attempt to purchase alcohol using their real identification.
The Carson City Sheriff's Office will focus on businesses checking identification properly and denying the sale of alcohol to minors. The goal is to have 100 percent compliance and not have any alcohol being sold to the teens.
"We want to eliminate the ability for juveniles to purchase alcohol, using their own identification or someone else," said CCSO Deputy Jarrod Adams. "This compliance check will be done in an effort to keep our town’s youth safe and sober over Nevada Day weekend."
The checks are designed to keep juveniles safe and businesses in compliance with county and state laws. Any questions, please contact Deputy Jarrod Adams at jadams@carson.org.
