NHP trooper recovering after attempting to stop wrong-way driver in Douglas County
A crash this weekend in Douglas County on US-395 and Stephanie Way involving a Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Trooper has his fellow officers calling him a hero after attempting to stop a wrong way driver.
A Facebook post by Nevada Police Union said the crash, which happened Friday night shortly before midnight, left the trooper banged up, sore and bruised but that he will make a full recovery.
The post notes the Nevada State Police Trooper puts himself in harms way by putting his patrol car in the way of a wrong way driver.
"This was done after he was able to move another vehicle driving in front of him out of the fast lane over to the slow lane," the post note, adding that the action saved lives.
Carson Now has reached out to Nevada State Police and will update as more information becomes available.
