Nevada Day hosts granddaughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans
Nevada Day, Inc. and Briton Publishing have partnered to host featured author Julie Rogers Pomilia, granddaughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, who has published a book about her upbringing in the shadow of one of the most famous and popular western couples of all time.
Pomilia’s new book, Your Heroes, My Grandparents, A Granddaughter’s Love is a collection of short stories and candid photographs, many of them never seen by the public, that she originally wrote for her three sons and later was encouraged to share with all of us. The King of Cowboys, Roy Rogers and the Queen of the West, Dale Evans were household names for decades during the mid-twentieth century and even now are referenced in popular culture.
Pomilia resides in Minden and will be in the heart of Carson City during and after the Nevada Day parade, which is Saturday, Oct. 28. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Go here for more on Nevada Day events.
Her booth will be located on West Telegraph Street (between Eve’s Eatery and the Westside Pourhouse) and she will be on hand to sell and sign her book.
