Carson City arrests: Fight over $10 debt leads to knife chase at store
A 52-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for two counts alleged assault with a deadly weapon, commercial burglary and being a prohibited person possessing pepper spray, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Allen White was taken into custody in the 200 block of Fairview Drive. He was also booked for misdemeanor battery. According to the report, deputies responded to store for a report of a man running around inside the building with a knife.
A deputy arrived and located two men, one being suspect Allen White, and learned that both of them had been in a fight in the parking lot over a $10 debt owed by Allen.
During the altercation Allen presented a knife, when the other man, not named in the report, picked up a chair in the parking lot and threw it at Allen. The chair struck Allen and he stumbled backward, dropping the knife on the ground.
The man who threw the chair picked up the knife and ran into the store to escape further attack from Allen. Store employee hid the man in the office and called 911, according to the report.
Investigating deputies learned Allen entered the store with another knife in his hand and demanded to know where the other subject was, saying he was going to cut him, the report states.
Store employees told Allen they were on the phone with the Carson City Sheriff's Office. Allen left the store. He then returned on a bicycle and attacked the male victim again, this time with pepper spray.
When Allen discharged the pepper spray he also exposed a store employee. Carson City Fire Department paramedics checked all subjects involved, the report states.
Allen was placed under arrest for two counts suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of tear gas or pepper spray by a prohibited person, commercial burglary and battery. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destruction of property and misdemeanor battery, simple assault.
According to the booking report, CCSO deputies were dispatched to a Kathleen Drive address regarding a possible residential burglary in progress.
Dispatch advised the reporting party stated a male was banging on her garage door, her front window and main entry door. The man appeared appeared to not be wearing a shirt.
Deputies arrived and observed three subjects standing in the driveway at a nearby residence. One of them was wearing a gray tank top t-shirt that was ripped in the back and had blood coming from his swollen face.
The man matched the description given by the reporting party. Two other people, one being the homeowner of the nearby residence, was inside the garage. He stated the suspect needed to "get the f**k" off his property.
Deputies detained the suspect and Carson City Fire Department paramedics were called to evaluate the suspect. The suspect was uncooperative while being evaluated, the report states.
The man was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak. He said he was drinking and walked over to a neighbor's house. At some point he said he got into a fight with a person at the residence. He could not say what the fight was about.
After speaking with the suspect, deputies spoke to the homeowner who said he was at work all day and when he came home he noticed the suspect was standing in his garage, along with his wife and another neighbor. All were drinking.
The homeowner said the man kept making inappropriate comments to the man's wife. At this point, the suspect was asked to leave. He refused to leave and then grabbed the homeowner by the neck, leaving fingernail indents to the side of his neck as well as punching the side of his head a few times, the report states.
The man said he defended himself by punching the suspect in the face. After he punched the suspect he walked back into the house. He said the man began tossing trash cans and went to the next door neighbors house (the reporting party) where he began to bang on their garage and tossing her trash cans all over the driveway.
The suspect was booked for gross misdemeanor destruction of property and misdemeanor battery. Bail: $3,637.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested for two gross misdemeanor failure to appear warrants. Bail: $10,000.
