Public invited: Carson City Rotarians to learn about NNDA’s role in the local economy
The Northern Nevada Development Authority plays a vital role in our area’s economy. You can learn about the agency’s efforts to support the ongoing growth and prosperity of our region at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting.
NNDA Executive Director Jeff Sutich will be the guest speaker at the meeting which takes place Tuesday, Oct. 11 at noon in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom. The public is invited to attend.
“Northern Nevada is a good place to do business,” he said. “Our State is just a one-day drive from 77 million people, and a two-day drive to 116 million people, making our area an efficient location for suppliers and manufacturers to get goods to consumers.”
He adds that it’s also more than just the location that makes our area attractive to businesses. “The cost of electricity is up to 50% cheaper than in California, and one of the lowest in the country. Plus, Nevada ranks 7th in the nation as the most business friendly state.”
The NNDA encompasses Carson City, as well as Lyon, Storey, Douglas and Mineral Counties. In the past decade the agency has assisted more than 100 relocation and expanding companies, helped generate more than 5,000 new jobs and created over $2 billion in total economic impact in our area.
Sutich, a 6th generation Nevadan, holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and Bachelor Degrees in both International Business and Economics.
