Carson City rescue team delivers firefighter struck by rolling log to Care Flight
UPDATE: Care Flight has taken an injured firefighter to Renown Medical Center in Reno after he was hit by a rolling log Wednesday afternoon near the top of Spooner Summit. The condition of the firefighter is unknown at this time. He was aided by Carson City Fire Department personnel who were called to the top of Spooner.
Rescue teams hiked into the backcountry to reach the injured man and then took him to an ambulance that then delivered him to the waiting helicopter at around 3:40 p.m.

Carson City firefighters were called to the top of Spooner Summit this afternoon after a firefighter working in the forest was struck by a rolling log and injured. A Care Flight helicopter was ordered. The call came into dispatch at around 2:47 p.m.
A Carson City rescue team was urged to bring a brush truck to be able to get to the injured firefighter, said to be being treated at the scene by other firefighters in the forest.
According to dispatch and firefighters arriving on the scene, the rescue team will have to hike in to reach the injured firefighter. A helicopter landing zone has been established.
