Carson City emergency response team to host 'Stop the Bleeding' and hands-on CPR training
Carson City Community Emergency Response Team, also known as CERT, is having a free training class on how to control life-threatening bleeding and perform hands-only CPR until help arrives.
“Until Help Arrives” is a FEMA Program to train the public on the basic, yet critical, actions that can be taken during a life-threatening emergency to help sustain or save a life until emergency professionals arrive.
The training course is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m at at the main Fire Station: 777 S. Stewart St. Carson City.
To find out more about the training, and to register for this course, please contact CERT at CERT@carson.org.
Would you like to be on a team dedicated to helping first responders in a crisis? The Carson City CERT Program utilizes Carson City Fire Department and other supporting agencies to prepare citizens for all kinds of emergencies and to aid local emergency services in the event of a disaster in their community.
You don’t need any special skills or capabilities to join CERT; every community member can contribute, in their own way, to help their community be better prepared to respond to hazards.
