Carson City couple opens The Missing Piece pre-owned furniture store
Looking for something to add to your living room, dining room or bedroom ensemble but don't have a lot of money to spend?
A new furniture store in Carson City — The Missing Piece — opened this summer and offers a 3,600 square-foot showroom of pre-owned furniture at affordable prices. Located at 1800 East William Street, the Missing Piece is owned by Kelly and Donna Nolan of Carson City.
Opening the furniture store had been on the minds of the couple for a few years. Donna used to work at a furniture store in Carson City and Kelly builds and sells small furniture as a hobby.
Since this is something they both had a knack for, Kelly decided to go ahead and turn his well-trained hobby as a furniture maker into restoring and refurbishing furniture. Donna explained that Kelly looks for furniture to buy and then brings it back to his shop to restore to near-new condition.
Helping the business along is daughter Sarah Nolan who works the store in the morning.
The business focuses on modern furniture and accessories only and not antiques. Because of the reasonable prices the store offers, the Missing Piece is not a consignment store.
The showroom is quite impressive with fully decked-out living room, bedroom and dining room sets, as well as chairs, sofas, recliners, beds, desks, tables, end tables, hutches and other things that make for affordable and nice home decorum.
The Missing Piece is located at 1800 William Street, No. 1. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can find them on Facebook here.
