Greenhouse Project board extends thanks to community for successful Grateful Harvest Dinner
The Greenhouse Project Board and Action Committee members would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the 15th annual Grateful Harvest Dinner, hosted September 23 at Nashville Social Club.
Without the support of oursponsors and community members alike playing an active role in this event, the work we do of Growing, Giving and Teaching for a Healthier, Greener, Sustainable Community, would be little more than empty words.
These past years, you have enabled us to provide the latest in agricultural education to local students, growing from four students our first year to more than 200 today. This has allowed us to provide more than 30,000 pounds of fresh produce to our community's food insecure by way of outreach programs including Ron Wood Family Resource Center, Meals on Wheels, Circles Initiative and Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH. We also provide produce to Carson High School's Culinary Department.
We are presently working to expand our volunteer program. If you would like to be a hands-on participant, or to support TGP in other ways, please visit www.carsoncitygreenhouse.org or call Christin Cohee, director of programs at 775-600-9530 for more information.
Thanks again for your ongoing support,
Karen Abowd
