Carson City sheriff deputies make several misdemeanor arrests during weekend

A 21-year-old Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of child endangerment/abuse and misdemeanor domestic battery after he was arrested Sept. 22, in the 3000 block of Florentine Drive.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to an Airport Road address for a domestic battery. Officers report the victim, who is pregnant, and the suspect were arguing and the man pushed the victim out of the front door of the apartment. The victim told officers they were arguing because the man wanted to go to the bar rather than spend time with her, the arrest report states.

The victim said she asked the man to stop because she was holding on to her one-year-old child. The woman told officers she walked into the residence through the front door and the man threw her onto the bed while she was holding the baby, the arrest report states.

She said kicked the man in his legs and stomach to get him to stop. The man then punched the woman in the left forearm, she told officers. She used her forearm to blocker her pregnant stomach, the report states, and called 911. She said the suspect then left the scene. The report states that the woman was crying and had a red, swollen bump on her left forearm.

A deputy located the suspect in the 3100 block of Florentine Drive and took him into custody. At jail the man was read his Miranda rights and stated to officers that he wanted to talk.

He said that he and the woman were arguing and he moved some of her belongings outside of their apartment because she was threatening to move out. He said he grabbed the woman's left arm and "moved" her back into the apartment, the arrest report states. The suspect said the woman then hit him in the chest.

He said the woman injured her forearm when it hit the door handle on the way out of the apartment. He said the woman then tripped on the bed and she fell. The suspect said the woman was holding the one-year-old in her arms during the incident and that all three fell to the ground. He denied having any visible injury to his chest.
