Carson City arrests: Man booked for credit cards that were not his, illegal mushroom sales
A 39-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday for suspicion of possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to sell, possession of six different credit cards, each with a separate subject's name on them, and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Timothy Michael Riddle, a Gardnerville resident, was taken into custody at 2:29 a.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street. He was also booked for felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the booking report, a CCSO deputy was patrolling the area and noticed a vehicle that did not have a license plate light or rear mounting bracket.
The deputy made contact with the driver who identified himself as Riddle. As the man was reaching over to his glove box for vehicle information, the deputy noticed a clear meth pipe resting on the center console. The man attempted to slowly remove the meth pipe from the deputy's view, the report states.
The deputy waited for a cover officer then asked the man to step out of the vehicle. He was advised he was being detained because of the meth pipe the officer saw in plain view. To this, Riddle shouted "yeah, well it doesn't have residue on it. Whatcha gonna do now?"
A free air sniff of the vehicle was done by the deputy's K-9 partner Proton, who showed a positive alert from the front passenger window of the vehicle, the report states.
The deputy searched the vehicle and located a black eyeglass case in the center console. Inside the case was a sandwich style baggie that was approximately one-quarter full of psilocybin mushrooms. The deputy also located a bag filled with unused baggies and a small scale with trace residue on it. The deputy also located another unused meth pipe in the center console cup holder.
Also found during the search was six different credit cards, each with a separate subject's name on them, according to the report. Riddle was placed in custody for the following: Possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of two or more credit cards of another and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $15,000.
