Carson City sheriff's arrest log for Thursday
A 25-year-old Carson City woman was jailed Wednesday on four felony charges in which a taser was deployed after she resisted arrest, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Kelsey Ann Wilkison was arrested, 6:35 p.m. at a casino in the 2260 block of East William Street after the altercation with deputies. She faces felony charges of probation violation, possession of a controlled substance and prescription pills without having a prescription, and a warrant for failure to appear. She was also charged with misdemeanor obstructing and had a warrant for her arrest out of Lyon County.
Officers attempted to arrest Wilkison after she gave them a false name and date of birth. A deputy asked the woman to put her hands behind her back, in which the woman, pulled away, and began to thrash violently, attempting to get away, according to the arrest report.
The officer repeatedly told the woman to stop resisting, and to allow cuffs to be placed on her. After multiple times she was asked, she was then warned that she would be tasered if she didn’t comply. After the warnings, a taser was deployed. The woman ceased fighting and allowed handcuffs on her.
The officer told the woman: “Kelsey that could have been handled much easier” in which the woman replied: “I know, I just got scared and thought I could get away.”
A search of the woman’s purse found a hypodermic needle, a long shoe string, a large amount of aluminum foil, and 5 white pills, Hydrocodone and Acetominophin, which are prescription only and a controlled substance in which she did not have a prescription.
Of the charges there is a felony failure to appear bench warrant that was issued out of first district court on a charge of obtaining and using false identifying information of another to avoid prosecution. She is also accused of violating terms of her probation, also a felony. There are two charges with “no bail” holds pending a hearing. Bail for the other charges: $6,152.
