A spectacular sunrise welcomed the weekend and greeted Carson City residents who were up early to see it on Saturday morning.
The weekend forecast is for mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s for the Nevada state capital, the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno reports.
Overnight lows are expected to be chilly, however, dipping to just below 40 degrees.
The next seven days are pretty much the same story for Carson City, according to the NWS extended forecast.
However, fire danger continues to be very high as a red flag warning remains in effect for the region, the NWS reports.
Winds are expected to be strong Saturday, sustained out of the west-southwest at 15-20 miles per hour (mph) and gusting to 35 mph.
