Carson City gas prices drop an average of a nickel since August
Gas prices in Carson City appear to be about three cents higher a gallon than the statewide average of $2.84, as reported by monthly figures compiled by AAA. The good news is that capital city gas prices have dropped about a nickel from last month.
A look at NevadaGasPrices.com on Wednesday shows local prices varying, from a low of $2.74 a gallon at Costco to a high of $2.99. AAA reports the average price for gas in Carson City is $2.87 a gallon, down 5 cents since August. Reno has a higher average at $2.93 a gallon while Las Vegas $2.73, down 14 cents from last month's AAA survey.
Nearby South Lake Tahoe came in having the highest gas prices in the lower 48 states at $3.31 a gallon, which is actually 10 cents less than a month ago, according to AAA.
