Drift smoke from Pollock Pines wildfire seen west of Carson City
UPDATE: Drift smoke from a large and growing wildfire in northern California was seen Sunday west of Carson City in the Hobart, Lakeview and Marlette areas. Carson City firefighters have checked the areas after several 911 calls were made to dispatch.
The fire burning northeast of Pollock Pines in El Dorado County was reported to be around 2,500 acres and growing with 10 percent containment as of Sunday evening, according to Cal Fire. There are mandatory evacuations. The fire started Saturday.
There's also a 155-acre fire burning in Nevada County, Calif., which may also be adding drift smoke to the region, according to firefighters.
