Reported vehicle burglary leads to car chase, crash near Curry and S. Carson Street Saturday evening
A car and foot chase resulting in a crash occurred just before 7 p.m. near a car dealership on South Carson and Curry Street on Saturday evening.
The chase began after deputies were dispatched to the area of Lennox and Betts on report of a car burglary in progress.
The individuals involved were described as an adult man wearing a red shirt and red shoes, and an adult woman.
When deputies arrived, a chase ensued first in a vehicle, until the vehicle crashed into another vehicle on Curry Street, at which point the individuals fled on foot.
The man ran back and forth between a car dealership and the Wells Fargo bank until being captured by deputies. The man complained of an old hip injury that was re-injured during the arrest.
The 20-year-old woman was apprehended at gunpoint in the dealership parking lot. The woman complained of having a medical episode relating to asthma, and medical was dispatched to the scene.
The vehicle that was struck by the fleeing vehicle contained an 88-year-old individual who was complaining of chest pain.
Deputies located bullets inside the vehicle, but no gun has been located at this time.
NHP is being dispatched to the scene of the crash. Motorists are advised to avoid Curry Street at this time and seek alternate routes.
