Carson City area weather: Warm and sunny through the weekend and beyond
Near or above average high temperatures, sunny skies and dry conditions are expected for the Carson City area and surrounding counties through the weekend, with a slight chance of showers south of US-50, mainly in Mineral and Mono counties, according to National Weather Service forecasters.
The daytime high temperatures will give into afternoon breezes and cool nights this weekend that will make for quite a change from weather conditions that brought rain and thunderstorms to the northern Nevada region last weekend.
Weather models show the weak shortwave in Mineral and Mono counties this weekend and then warm, dry conditions that are expected to last at least over the next seven days, forecasters said, with low chances of thunderstorms south of US-50.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-80s across western Nevada and mid-70s for Lake Tahoe and Sierra communities. Winds should remain calm and skies remain sunny through next week, making for near-perfect late summer conditions.
