April arson fire at Fernley home results in arrest, Department of Public Safety reports
A woman was arrested for suspected arson following an incident that happened on April 24 in Fernley and the subsequent state fire marshal investigation, according to the Nevada Department of Public Safety.
Genevieve Donnelly is charged with first degree arson and is booked at Washoe County Detention Center. The Nevada Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest of the woman.
The investigation began on April 24, 2022, following a report from the North Lyon Fire Protection District of a suspicious residential fire. The residence was not occupied at the time of the incident, according to law enforcement.
State Fire Marshal investigators determined on-scene that the fire resulted from arson. Following several leads, they located and arrested the suspect, Donnelly.
