State of Nevada thanks Stateline casinos for their assistance to first responders
Nevada Emergency Managers thank all five properties in Stateline for their commitment to first responders in fighting the Caldor Fire. Hard Rock closed gaming operations, is serving as an incident command station, and is housing first responders.
Harveys, Harrah’s and MontBleu have also closed gaming operations, but all three casino properties, plus Edgewood, are keeping rooms open for first responders. In addition, MontBleu has discounted rooms available for evacuees.
“We know this is a huge undertaking during a very difficult time in the South Lake Tahoe, Stateline community,” said Jon Bakkedahl, Emergency Management Program Manager – Preparedness/Response. “We are so thankful for the community collaboration and resources we’re seeing to fight this fire and keep people safe.
Bakkedahl also expressed thanks to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for facilitating collaboration during the process of temporarily suspending gaming operations, and prioritizing employee safety on behalf of all Stateline gaming properties.
