Trains at work over Labor Day weekend in Carson City
While many people enjoy three days off through Labor Day this weekend, the locomotives and their volunteer crews at the Nevada State Railroad Museum (NSRM) are going full-steam ahead.
Three steam engines at the museum were active Saturday and will be all weekend long through the holiday, including Virginia and Truckee Engine No. 25, The Inyo No. 22, and The 1875 Glennbrook.
Rides and demonstrations were given on the historic engines that once worked regularly around the Tahoe Basin and Northwestern Nevada.
Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Train rides are available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All-inclusive wristbands featuring unlimited train rides and museum admission are $15 for adults, $9 for children 12-17, $5 for children 4-11 years old, and children three years old and under are free.
Standard museum admission and train fares will also be available: $8 ages 12 and up, $4 children 4-11, and under four is free.
The Warren Engine Company of Carson City will be selling hamburgers and hot dogs in front of Wabuska Station on Saturday and Sunday.
Hot Rodzz will on site Monday, Labor Day, with its food truck.
