Carson Parks and Rec offering Minimum Day Adventures for teens on early release days
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean adventures have to end! Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is taking teens on adventures on days that coincide with minimum days for the school district.
“Had our first Minimum Day Adventure trip yesterday taking a handful of teens up to Lake Tahoe for a beautiful day kayaking,” a spokesperson wrote. “Not one of them said they would rather be in class.”
The goal of the Minimum Day Adventures is to provide a fun and active activity on minimum days every other Wednesday throughout the school year.
Each activity costs $10 and equipment and transportation are included.
Here are the next two scheduled activities:
**Sept. 11: Hike and Swim at Chimney Beach
**Sept 25: Disc Golf
