High speed pursuit from Carson City to Dayton ends in arrest, possession of stolen vehicle
A Dayton man was booked early Tuesday morning after leading law enforcement on a high speed pursuit with a stolen motorcycle that began in Carson City and ended in Lyon County.
Alejandro Mendez was taken into custody following the pursuit that ended in Dayton, where his motorcycle was cornered on a dead-end street, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office in a news release.
During the pursuit, Mendez was recklessly going at speeds in excess of 100 mph in Carson City, where a pursuit began and picked up with LCSO deputies in Mound House.
During the pursuit, deputies attempted to stop the rider, where he failed to yield to their emergency lights and sirens in Carson City and then across the county and ran multiple red lights, stop signs, and drove on the wrong side of the highway, placing the public in imminent danger, according to LCSO.
A records check through dispatch confirmed the Kawasaki motorcycle was reported stolen out of Carson City.

• Reckless Endangerment to the Public
• Aggressive Driving
• Reckless Driving
• Basic Speed 31+
• Failure to Maintain Lane
• Driving Wrong Way; Right Side Required
• Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License
• Obstructing/Resisting Arrest
• Speed too fast for conditions
• Warrant for Failure to Comply
