Next phase of Lompa Ranch housing development approved by Carson City Supervisors
On Thursday, the Carson City Board of Supervisors approved a tentative subdivision map for 204 new lots within the ongoing Lompa Ranch development.
The portion of the development is Blackstone Ranch Phase two, which spans 59 acres within the northern portion of the historic ranch.
Specifically, the new lots will be built between East Robinson and East Fifth Streets.
In addition, a 10 acre park was approved to be built within the development near the end of East Robinson Street.
Once the park is built, it will be dedicated to the city, similar to other recently built parks within new development such as Schulz Ranch.
The map was approved 4-1 with Supervisor Maurice White voting against.
White said that adding more roads to the city will increase the already fraught road maintenance challenge the city faces every year.
In prior meetings, supervisors have discussed the potential to include road maintenance as part of the developers’ responsibilities in new neighborhoods, but this project does not include any stipulation.
