Carson City sheriff's deputies make multiple drug arrests over weekend
A 59-year-old man was arrested Saturday for possession of a birth certificate, a Social Security card and other identifying information not belonging to him, and possession of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Michael Kash was taken into custody following an investigation after the drugs were found, including 12.7 grams of methamphetamine. Also found was a makeshift pipe the suspect said was used for smoking cocaine.
According to the booking report, deputies located the drugs, along with a sock that contained a Nevada ID card, Social Security card, birth certificate, hospital certificate and a W-2 form that didn't belong to him.
The person whom the identification belonged to told a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy that his storage unit had been broken into approximately six to eight months ago and that multiple items were stolen including his personal documents. The victim stated he did not know Michael Kash nor did he give him permission to have his personal documents. Total bail amount listed, $6,137.
In other arrests:
— A 71-year-old man was arrested early Monday for third offense suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and other alleged offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Jim Andre McSurdy was taken into custody following an investigation after suspected methampetamine was found on his person. He was also booked for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant. Bail: $5,000.
— An 18-year-old Carson City was arrested Sunday for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Booked and released.
— A 40-year-old woman, Shana Lee Rubin, and a 53-year-old woman, Teresa Marie Bell, both of Reno, were arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
Rubin was also booked for two counts misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500 each.
— A 29-year-old Reno man, Charles Rosencrantz, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and four misdemeanor: possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, and two Department of Alternative Sentencing violations. Bail: $6,000 cash.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man, Michael Cota, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
