Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak announced Tuesday on social media that during the week of Aug. 10, initial observations for businesses in Carson City, Silver Springs and Boulder City were found to be 100 percent in compliance with safety measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID19.
Here's what he wrote on his Facebook page:
In the week of Aug. 10, initial observations for businesses in 3 cities were found to be 100% in compliance with safety measures aimed at slowing the spread of #COVID19. Thank you to owners, employers and customers in Boulder City, Carson City & Silver Springs for your hard work.
Spring Creek businesses were found to be 94 percent in compliance, Wells businesses 92 percent, Wendover 92 percent, Reno 91 percent and Elko 90 percent — all above 90 percent! We know that by following these safety measures, we can continue on the roadmap to our new normal & getting Nevada back in business.
Since late-June, State officials have visited more than 6,100 businesses with an 88 percent compliance rate and I know we will continue to do even better. I know that NV OSHA is working closely with businesses and localities on coming into compliance so we can stay safe and stay open.
Meanwhile, the Carson City Chamber of Commerce is disseminating free posters for businesses to display in their window or on doors to ask customers to comply with the face mask ruling. Call 882-1565 to reserve yours.
