Summer outdoor concerts at Carson City's BAC offer no-cost COVID-19 vaccine clinic
COVID-19 vaccine clinics are now offered as part of Saturday's summer outdoor concert series at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.
Immunize Nevada, Brewery Arts Center and TourHealth are partnering to host the clinics as part of the Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series. The first clinic was Saturday, August 7.
The clinics are free and for all community members ages 21 and over. The clinics will continue on Saturdays through August 28 at 449 W King St, Carson City inside the Pottery Building.
The federal government is providing the COVID-19 vaccine for free to everyone living in the United States, regardless of immigration or health insurance status. Masks are required at the clinics. All surfaces will be sanitized and social distancing will be practiced to ensure the safety of clinic attendees, organizers said.
"Widespread vaccination will end this pandemic, the way it ended smallpox, polio and measles. Immunization with a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is a critical component of the state and country’s strategy to reduce COVID-19-related illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths," according to a news release from organizers of the clinic.
Information on the COVID-19 vaccine can be found at nvcovidfighter.org or by calling 1.800.401.0946.

Those who get vaccinated at the event and are 21 years of age or older will receive a free Jell-O shot.
This week's band is Southern Drawl. The concert starts at 7 p.m. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota Streets. Admission is free.
The BAC asks concertgoers to please bring a mask to wear when in buildings to use the bathrooms.
"We appreciate the public’s cooperation as we follow and enforce the current COVID-19 safety guidelines for each show as we know that these guidelines may change throughout the season," the BAC noted in a news release announcing last week's concert.
