Nevada Humane Society launches Pick of the Pack fundraiser Saturday at Carson City Toyota

The Nevada Humane Society, a nonprofit animal shelter working to save animal lives in northern Nevada, will launch its Pick of the Pack fundraising raffle on Saturday, August 10 at Dick Campagni’s Carson City Toyota, an opportunity for the community to purchase tickets for a raffle running through Nov. 2 wherein they can win either a brand new car or $15,000 in cash while supporting homeless pets in northern Nevada.
Pick of the Pack is presented by Dick Campagni’s Carson City Toyota and will feature multiple options for individuals to purchase tickets, including during select University of Nevada, Reno football games.
Over the last 10 years, the dealership has enabled the donation of more than $1.5 million to NHS through the sales of raffle tickets. Pick of the Pack tickets will be available for $20 each or six for $100, with all proceeds benefiting the Nevada Humane Society's mission to care for pets, find them homes and save lives.
The winning ticket will be drawn during halftime at the Nevada Wolf Pack football game on November 2. Participants must be over 18 and are responsible for any taxes and fees associated with the prize.
The fundraiser replaces the nonprofit’s annual Duck Race initiative, as it costs less to orchestrate and represents a greater opportunity for financial impact and a more environmentally safe method for enabling supporters to get engaged with the nonprofit.
The fundraiser kicks off with an adoption event on August 10 at Carson City Toyota, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. wherein attendees can purchase raffle tickets and adopt puppies directly at the dealership. Following, tickets can be purchased at either the Reno or Carson City campus, at Dick Campagni’s Carson City Toyota, and online at www.nevadahumanesociety.org/pickofthepack (buyers must be in the state of Nevada at the time of purchase).

Sat, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. vs. California State University, Fresno
Sat, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. vs. Colorado State University
“Every ticket purchased as part of Pick of the Pack helps us continue saving the lives of pets in northern Nevada,” said Jerleen Bryant, CEO at Nevada Humane Society. “Partnering with these entities gives NHS a simple but incredibly powerful way to make a difference for animals in our community as the rising cost of living and inflation negatively affects them.”
The NHS is an independent nonprofit and is entered into a professional services agreement with the Washoe County Regional Animal Services, a regional operation focusing on animal welfare and public health through sheltering, field services and regulation enforcement.
In Carson City, NHS offers the same high-quality adoption services and programs while managing the city’s animal control services. The PSA between WCRAS and NHS stipulates the nonprofit serve as the official public surrender agency for Washoe County. Animals taken in at WCRAS are evaluated and held for five days to provide their owner time to reclaim. After five days, if not reclaimed, they are made available to NHS and other rescue partners to transfer into their adoption programs in hopes of finding a new home.
