Carson City sheriff's deputies make weekend arrests for felony evading, DUI and drugs

A 27-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony evading, eluding, failing to stop and misdemeanor DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Raimon Garcia-Ayala was taken into custody at 12:40 a.m. According to the report, deputies were called to the 4000 block of Pheasant Drive for a report of shots fired.
A deputy was driving eastbound on Pheasant and observed a white pickup drive on the wrong side of the road overtaking another vehicle while speeding away from the area.
The deputy activated their emergency light and siren, attempting a traffic stop. The vehicle continued to pull away from the deputy, going north on Fairview drive while failing to stop at a red light, the report states.
The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed onto Stanton Drive then southbound on Woodside Drive, the report states. The vehicle stopped in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop on the vehicle and instructed all three occupants to exit the vehicle.
The passengers were read their Miranda rights and said then didn't know why the driver eluded deputies and denied shooting a firearm in the area, the report states.
A deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver's breath. He was asked if he had been drinking. The man stated he had four beers about an hour prior to the stop. The driver was read his Miranda rights and did not wish to talk.
Upon conducting an inventory of the truck prior to towing, officers located two 9mm bullet casings in the truck. One casing was found in the truck cab behind the seat and the second was located in the truck's bed. Officers photographed the casings and collected them. Officers canvassed the area of Pheasant Drive and located three other bullet casings.
The driver, Garcia-Ayala, stated he would submit to standardized field sobriety tests. He showed signs of impairment and provided a preliminary breath test of .188. He was taken to jail where he agreed to evidentiary breath tests with results of .097 and .098. Bail: $2,500.
In other arrests:
— A 20-year-old man, Andrew Lorca, was arrested Friday, 8:53 a.m. for the following felony warrants issued out of Carson City Justice Court: Domestic battery with strangulation, grand larceny of a motor vehicle and robbery. Bail: $40,000.
— A 66-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of violation of a temporary protection order. Bail: $3,000.
— A 19-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday for an outside agency warrant out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $3,500.
— A 20-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday, 4:55 a.m. for a misdemeanor outside agency warrant and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Bail: $1,000 for the possession charge and $850 cash for the warrant.
— A 21-year-old Gardnerville man, Andre Raul Corral, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, suspected cocaine. Bail: $2,500.
— A 45-year-old Dayton man, Brian Michael Proctor, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony parole and probation violation and misdemeanor obstructing and resisting. During the course of the investigation officers learned the man was intoxicated, a violation of conditions of his parole, which prohibited him from entering a bar or consuming alcohol.
He provided a preliminary breath test of .355. As deputies attempted to discuss a crash incident where a sign pole was hit at Fifth and Stewart, the man became uncooperative and began to walk away from deputies. Officers attempted to place him into handcuffs. The man yelled at deputies, who were able to get him cuffed. The man was placed in a patrol car where he began kicking the interior. Bail: No bail hold for the parole violation.
— A 50-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor violation of bail, pretrial supervision. There was an alternative sentencing violation with a "no alcohol" clause. The woman provided a preliminary breath test of .240. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— An 18-year-old man, Tyler John Currier, was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, psilocybin mushrooms. Bail: $2,500.
— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of DUI drugs and open container. According to the booking report, deputies were called at 2:27 p.m. to the area of Hobart Road and Lakeview Road for a intoxicated driver.
Deputies located the vehicle that had been reported in the area of Wagon Wheel Road and Meadow Wood Drive. The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver.
The man said there was a marijuana pen and they had been drinking beer. He was asked the last time he smoked marijuana. The man said approximately two hours prior and said he had a couple sips from a beer. There was an open container in the vehicle. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana. Two vials of blood were drawn. Bail: $1,137.
— A 30-year-old Carson City woman Mariah Souza Whitmer, was arrested Sunday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and the following misdemeanors: possession of drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle and no proof of insurance. Bail: $2,500.
— A 61-year-old Reno woman, Cheryl Lee Bradfield, and a 41-year-old Carson City man, Antonio Gean Orosco, were arrested Sunday, 8:50 a.m. for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance (suspected methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for misdemeanor violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions. One of those conditions was to not to have contact with the victim. He was in violation of the conditions. Bail: $3,000 cash.
