Western Nevada College to host 'Reach for the Stars Roaring ’20s' Gala for student support on Aug. 12
Step back in time and immerse yourself in the glitz and glamour of the Roaring 20s at the Reach for the Stars Gala, hosted by the Western Nevada College Foundation.
On the evening of Aug. 12, the Joe Dini Library will be transformed into a Roaring 20s venue where people can come to support the students of WNC. Prepare to step into a world where the spirit of the 1920s comes alive in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Jack C. Davis Observatory.
Mingle with fellow community members dressed in flapper dresses, pinstripes, feathers and pearls and enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a catered dinner by Chef John Hurzel. There will also be gifts, live and silent auctions and dancing to music provided by local DJ Steve Nichols.
The gala will also feature the brilliant Dr. Thomas Herring, Director of the Jack C. Davis Observatory, who will guide you on a journey through the cosmos. With state-of-the-art telescopes at your disposal, you will learn about the upcoming Perseid Meteor Shower and celebrate the beautiful August night sky.
Reach for the Stars Gala would not be possible without the generous support of
sponsors such as Wells Fargo, JOIN, Metcalf Builders, Quick Space, Southwest Gas
and Briggs Electric.
