Carson City area weather: City cools down to 80s this week, clouds with possible rain
National Weather Service forecasters say cloudy days are ahead this week around the Carson City area and surrounding counties, with the heat dropping into the 80s, a relief from the upper 90s last week.

Sunday and Monday:
The weather Sunday will remain sunny, with a high of about 92 degrees, which is set to drop down to the high 50s in the evening. There will be gusts of wind as high as 25 miles per hour today as well.
Tuesday:
The weather will remain mostly sunny, with a high near 92 degrees again, but the wind will calm down a bit today, to around 5 to 15 mph. There is also a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening before 11 p.m.
Wednesday:
During the afternoon after 11 a.m., there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but then the rest of the day is mostly sunny, dropping down to a high of about 88 degrees.There is also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the evening.
Thursday:
After 11 a.m. there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, but most of the day will be sunny still in the 80s and in the evening there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m.
Friday:
Most of the day will be sunny with a high of 89 for the day and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening.
Saturday:
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, but most of the day will remain sunny, with the temperature high jumping back up to 91 degrees.
