Three in custody, victim sustains non-life-theatening injuries after fight near Kings Canyon trailhead
UPDATE 11:30PM: The victim of a battery that happened early Tuesday night suffered non-life threatening injuries following a fight that he started with three men near the Kings Canyon Waterfall trailhead, a Carson City sheriff’s detective said.
The victim and the suspects had been drinking together and were hiking when the victim started the fight with the three males, said Detective Sam Hatley.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and a laceration. Because of the injuries, he was flown as a precaution to Renown Medical Center.
The three suspects were charged with misdemeanor battery after it was determined they continued the assault, kicking the man while he was on the ground and defenseless. All four men were intoxicated and are transients.

UPDATE 8PM: Three men are in custody and an adult male victim was flown to Renown Medical Center by air ambulance on Tuesday night after an assault near the trailhead at Kings Canyon.
The victim's condition is unknown at this time, but reportedly suffered a head injury and laceration, according to Carson City Fire Department personnel, who had ordered Care Flight.
The suspects were caught after brief foot pursuits.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were called Tuesday night to Kings Canyon Road at the trailhead after a man was severely beaten by three male suspects. The victim is suffering from head injuries and Care Flight has been ordered, according to fire department personnel on scene.
The incident was reported at around 6:45 p.m. by a witness hiking on the trail who reported three men beating another man who was on the ground and not moving, according to dispatch.
Reports to dispatch are the suspects, described as two white males not wearing shirts, and a white male wearing a gray shirt, beat the adult male and then fled eastbound through the sagebrush as officers arrived. All three of the suspects are now in custody.
